چکیده

The hydrogen-bonded complexes of 17a-ethinyl-estradiol, progesterone, and testosterone with adenineand uracil-derivatives have been investigated by means of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy using deutero-chloroform as a solvent. The thermodynamic and NMR-parameters (equilibrium constant K, enthalpy AH, entropy AS, and relative chemical shift of the com plexes A8C) for selfassociation and mixed association have been determined. The strongest complex was formed by the phenolic hydroxyl group of estradiol with dimethyl-adenine (K = 14 mole1 , — A H = i kcal/mole, — ZlS = 8 cal/mole-grad). The values were considerably less for the OH-17 group of estradiol and testosterone. The interaction of the keto groups of progesterone and testo sterone with nucleobases was very weak: K < 1 .0 mole1 . The biological importance of these results is discussed.

1H-NMR investigations on the hydrogen bond formation between the tranquilizers diazepam and nitrazepam and some nucleobases.

The formation of hydrogen bonds between the minor tranquilizers diazepam and nitrazepam and a few nucleobases was studied in deuterochloroform solution by means of proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy. The thermodynamic and spectroscopic data of the associations were evaluated on the basis of a dimer model, using the concentration dependent shifts of the protons involved in hydrogen bonds. Th...

Inductive Effect of Bioactive Intermolecular Hydrogen Bonding Complex of 1,2,4,5 –Tetrazine and Inorganic Acid by NMR and QTAIM

In this paper, NMR and QTAIM analysis for three substituted of T2SA complex was investigated in the gas and four solvents at DFT level. Intermolecular O–H…N hydrogen bonds between 1,2,4,5-Tetrazine and Sulphurous acids enhance the stability of complex.1,2,4,5-Tetrazine is a highly reactive diene for [4+2] inverse-Diels–Alder cycloaddition processes and an excellent precursor to attain the pyrid...

Urea Mimics Nucleobases by Preserving the Helical Integrity of B-DNA Duplexes via Hydrogen Bonding and Stacking Interactions.

Urea lesions are formed in DNA because of free radical damage of the thymine base, and their occurrence in DNA blocks DNA polymerases, which has deleterious consequences. Recently, it has been shown that urea is capable of forming hydrogen bonding and stacking interactions with nucleobases, which are responsible for the unfolding of RNA in aqueous urea. Base pairing and stacking are inherent pr...

Fast-pulsing NMR techniques for the detection of weak interactions: successful natural abundance probe of hydrogen bonds in peptides.

Structural investigations of peptides using NMR spectroscopy rarely include the detection of N-H···O=C and N-H···N hydrogen bonds, because the relevant heteronuclei have a low natural abundance while the small trans hydrogen bond scalar couplings reduce the sensitivity. Fast repetition NMR techniques combined with state of the art spectrometer specifications allowed the enhancement of the sensi...

Ab Initio Quantum Chemical Studies of 15N and 13C NMR Shielding Tensors in Serine and Complexes of Serine- nH2O: Investigation on Strength of the CαH…O Hydrogen bonding in the Amino Acid Residue.

In this paper, the hydrogen bonding (HB) effects on the NMR chemical shifts of selected atoms in serineand serine-nH2O complexes (from one to ten water molecules) have been investigated with quantummechanical calculations of the 15N and 13C tensors. Interaction with water molecules causes importantchanges in geometry and electronic structure of serine. For the compound studied, the most importan...
